Golf Mates is a scorecard app for playing golf with your friends. We collect only what the app needs to keep your account, your mates and your scores, and we never sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who we are
Golf Mates (golf-mates.com) is run by Grey Chain Technology Private Limited, New Delhi, India. Questions about this policy can be sent to support@golf-mates.com.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address and, when you sign in with Google or Apple, the name, email and profile photo that provider shares with us. We never receive your Google or Apple password.
- Your profile. The display name and optional photo you choose.
- Golf data. Games, scores, the mates you connect with, guests you add and the courses you play.
- Photos you upload for your profile or a course.
- Location, only while you use it. If you allow it, the app checks your position on your device to suggest which saved course you are at. We do not store your location history.
- Camera and microphone, only when you use them to take a photo or record a swing. Swing recordings stay on your device unless you choose to share them.
- Basic technical logs (such as IP address and request times) that our hosting providers keep for security and reliability.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account secure, including emailing you one-time sign-in codes.
- To show your games and scores to you and to the mates you play with.
- To connect you with a mate when you open or share an invite link.
- To keep the service running, fix problems and prevent abuse.
Who can see your information
Your mates can see your name and photo. Players on a game can see that game and its scores. Guests you add are visible only to you and to the players of games they are on. We do not show your email address to other players.
Services we use
We share data only with providers that run the service for us:
- Supabase for accounts, the database and photo storage (Mumbai, India region).
- Vercel to host the website.
- Resend to deliver sign-in emails.
- Google and Apple, only if you choose to sign in with them.
Golf Mates' use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only request your basic Google profile and email address, and use them only to sign you in.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your information while your account is active. You can leave a game at any time, which removes your scores from it. To delete your account and everything linked to it, email support@golf-mates.com from the address you sign in with and we will delete it within 30 days.
Security
All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Access to your data is enforced by the database itself, so other users can only reach what the rules above allow.
Children
Golf Mates is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
